Maintenance
How easy is it to maintain?
Easy. The Arctic Chiller is on a three-stage self-cleaning system. Replacing the filter every four weeks is advisable, but it depends on usage. Drain the water and clean the barrel once per month (unless it looks dirty, then replace it sooner). Keep the Arctic Bath & Chiller out of direct sunlight in a shaded area to ensure longevity. Maintenance is required to validate the warranty.
Should I add any chemicals?
NO! Any chemicals can damage the cooling system and will void the warranty. The chillers have a three-stage filtration. The first removes the debris and keeps the water clear. The second is Ozone disinfection, which eliminates bacteria, and the third removes hair and additional debris..
How do I drain the water?
Turn off the chiller. Locate the lowest valve at the rear of the barrel. Connect a hose to the valve and place the hose where you wish to drain. Finally, open the valve to drain the water.
How do I refill the Arctic Bath?
Connect a hose to a sink or outdoor tap, place the hose inside the barrel and fill. DO NOT fill to the top, or the water will overflow. Leave approx 20-30cm from the top (just above the top Inlet hole). DO NOT use salt water (to avoid corrosion).
Should I leave the chiller constantly on?
No. If you are not using the ice bath daily, we suggest turning it off when not in use. Allow 6-10 hours to reach a frosty 2-5 degrees celsius.
How loud is the Arctic Chiller?
When the chiller is cooling, it operates at 54 decibels. The sound of an air conditioning unit. (Not loud).
What materials have the Arctic Bath been made out of?
We hand-crafted the bath from sustainably sourced Teak Wood and marine-grade stainless steel 316L. It's essential to remember that wood, being a raw material, can change in shape and colour over time, as this product is designed to embrace its natural exterior characteristics.
Should I keep the lid and cover on when not it use?
Yes. We also advise wiping the exterior water off the Arctic Bath with a towel to dry after use before applying the cover.
